About Provider

Dr. Emily B. Fine, Ph.D., QME is a clinical neuropsychologist, licensed clinical psychologist, and qualified medical evaluator (QME), who has extensive forensic psychology and neuropsychology experience, which includes conducting workers’ compensation, fitness-for-duty, peace officer pre-employment, immigration, personal injury, criminal forensic, social security disability, veteran compensation and pension, and capacity evaluations.

Additionally, since 2013, Dr. Fine has worked as a staff neuropsychologist at Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare, conducting neuropsychological and psychological evaluations of, and providing treatment to, patients with traumatic brain injuries (TBI), stroke, and/or spinal cord injuries. Many of these patients suffer from other co-morbid disorders, including, depression, anxiety, PTSD, psychosis, learning disorders, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities. Approximately 50% of these patients are involved in the workers’ compensation system. Dr. Fine utilizes and believes strongly in an interdisciplinary team approach. She addresses the effects of injury on not only the patient’s mood and emotional functioning, but also the patient’s support system.

Prior to her work at Casa Colina Hospital, Dr. Fine worked for three years as a pre-doctoral intern, a post-doctoral fellow in Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation, and an Advanced Fellow in Traumatic Brain Injury and Polytrauma in the VA Long Beach Healthcare System. She conducted psychological and neuropsychological assessment and psychotherapy with veterans with combat and non-combat related PTSD, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, TBI, stroke, dementia, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Fine earned her Ph.D. from the University of Southern California and her B.A. (with departmental honors) from Stanford University.
