Marcela Roldan is a Latina immigrant who has been able to develop a successful career in the social services field after moving to Los Angeles in the year 2000. Her professional journey has been shaped by her involvement in different professional settings including foster care family agencies, non-profit health care organizations, social services agencies, and federal qualified health centers.
Her education consists of two Masters of Science in Gerontology and Social Work. In 2022, she became Licensed to practice in the state of California as a licensed clinical social worker. She has been providing mental health services for over three years at a federally qualified health center where she has served the community by providing psychotherapy treatment for a variety of mental health issues
The psychotherapy style she uses is based on a collaborative approach founded on the unique needs of each individual seeking therapy. Interventions come from a whole-person perspective taking into consideration each person’s values, culture, and racial/ethnic background. Marcela Roldan uses an integrative approach to therapy based on an adaptation of the evidence-based treatment modalities primary guided by cognitive behavioral therapy with an emphasis in trauma work.
Marcela Roldan is fluent in Spanish, and she practices with cultural competence and humility.
